With an end to lockdown in sight (well almost) I was wondering if there were any plans for the Regatta and the annual crabbing competition- as these events really bring the village together.

I wonder if there is an appetite for any plans to have a celebration for when the lockdown ends, maybe a fete on the King George or something along the quay? Would be nice for the community to get together when we can?

Great idea, a community picnic in the park could work. Everyone organises their own and we can all catch up with people that we haven't seen for ages. Would that work any problems? Dive in with other suggestions the Wivenhoish ideas the better

Maybe we need a Wivenhoe Open Spaces Picnic Society

That sounds like a great idea. Family and all ages friendly, everyone contributes and brings musical instruments if they can. It may even work if we still have social distancing in that family group sized squares could be marked out with path spaces between so that we can be together and safe distanced all at once. Making our own music and fun in the King George, a real Wivenhoe vibe :-)

What a wonderful scene to see so many folks out in the sunshine today. Just raising the suggestion around a Wivenhoe community party again- thoughts - and also any volunteers
