Info from ECC Highways website regarding works to the traffic lights at Brightlingsea Rd/Colchester Road junction;
"Arrangements have been made to renew the ageing traffic signals located at the junction of Brightlingsea Road / Colchester Road, Wivenhoe.
Works are due to start on Monday 4 October 2021 and are expected to take approximately five weeks to complete.
We will be replacing the traffic signals at the junction before they become unreliable and fail to work properly and will be installing new extra low voltage equipment which will help reduce our carbon footprint. The pedestrian facilities will also be renewed.
What is involved and how it may affect you
During the first week an overnight road closure will be required on Brightlingsea Road to allow for work to take place across the carriageway. The road will be closed between the hours of 7pm to 5am.
A diversion will be in place via Brightlingsea Road, Broad Lane, St Osyth Road, Tenpenny Hill, Clacton Road, Station Road, Frating Road, School Lane, Great Bentley Road, Main Road, Frating Hill, Colchester Road, Clacton Road and vice versa.
From the week commencing Monday 11 October 2021 the works will be carried out during the day with lane restrictions in place managed by three-way temporary traffic signals to provide a safe working area while operatives are on site."
It appears the route between the A133 and Wivenhoe will not be closed.
